An acre of green, just for you and your dog.
Coopers is RSPCA Cornwall's secure dog field. Fully fenced, privately booked, perfect for the dogs who can't quite cope with the public path.
Quietly tucked away at our Venton Centre.
Coopers sits on an acre at our Venton Animal Centre near St Columb. It's a flat, well-grazed paddock hedged with old Cornish hawthorn, watched over by one rather grand oak, and fenced double-tight to RSPCA welfare standards.
You'll be the only person in there with your dog. We build proper gaps between bookings so dogs don't pass each other at the gate. Quiet, private, and yours for the session.
Everything your dog needs, nothing you have to worry about.
Properly secure
Double-gated entry and full perimeter fencing built to RSPCA guidelines, so your dog can run with no risk of escape.
Built for play and training
A flat, open paddock that's ideal for recall practice, scent work, fetch, or just letting a high-energy dog blow off some steam.
Every booking helps animals
All hire fees go straight into our branch funds, supporting the rehoming, veterinary and welfare work we do across Cornwall.

Lead on between the car park and the gate

Anything else you might want to know.
Where exactly is the field?
Coopers Field is at The Venton Animal Centre, Quoit, St Columb, Cornwall, TR9 6JS. Full directions and parking instructions are included in your booking confirmation email.
Will my dog meet other dogs there?
No. The field is hired for one party at a time, so your session is completely private. We build in time between bookings so dogs do not cross over at the gate, which makes it ideal for reactive or nervous dogs.
What if it rains?
The field stays open in all but the most extreme weather. Cornish dogs are made of sturdy stuff. If we ever need to cancel for safety reasons (high winds, flooding) we will get in touch to reschedule or refund.
Can I cancel or reschedule?
Yes. Please get in touch as soon as you can if your plans change so we can offer the slot to someone else. Details are on your confirmation email.
Do you provide water or poo bags?
We ask owners to bring their own poo bags and a bowl of water for their dog. There are bins on site for waste, and we ask that you take a moment to leave the field as you found it.
Is there a shop on site?
Yes. We have a small shop in our main building (just through the wooden gate) stocked with treats, toys and balls, so if you forget anything or run low you can pop in. Please ask a member of staff before bringing your dog up to the building, as some of the rescue dogs we're rehabilitating need a bit of extra space to feel safe.
Is my dog allowed if they are entire, in season, or recovering?
Yes. Because each session is private, the field is a great option for dogs in season, recently neutered, or recovering from injury and needing controlled exercise. Please follow your vet's advice on activity levels.
Is the field suitable for puppies?
Absolutely. Coopers is a brilliant first off-lead environment for puppies who aren't yet vaccinated against everything they will meet on a public walk, or who are still building confidence.
